Being creative

With a bit of extra free time on my hands the last month I have been able to do more of one of my favourite things: Crafts!

As mentioned in an earlier post I was working on a blanket. I finished it just before Christmas and here’s the result:

White, light green & dark green polyester crocket blanket, aprox. 100 x 120 cm.

I have also been working on a little something for myself while checking out my crochet chart reading skills. The length is a tiny bit short for my preference, but over all I’m pleased with the result:

Short baby blue crocheted cardigan.

The pattern is from Ravelry:

My next project is a small bag. As you might already know, I have a thing for bags…

As always, feel free to leave a comment.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Past Time Pleasures

My free time is important to me, so I thought I’d share a few things I love to do.

Slightly random, but still in order. 😉

#8: The nature

Going for walks or driving through the nature on a beautiful sunny day is just lovely and can always put a smile on my face. 🙂

I love the coastline around my home (even on a rainy day), and the green hills with cows and sheep grassing peacefully just enjoying life are just a wonderful sight. It puts everything in life into perspective.

#7: Cooking

Soups, vegetables and salads are my favourites, the meats I let my fiancé take care of!

#6: Writing

I have been slacking a bit recently, but writing is another thing I enjoy spending time doing. I have put up two little pieces on my blog so far, and there should be more coming! 🙂

#5: Gardening

I love gardening and have recently tried out a small vegetable patch. The carrots and radishes seems to be coming along nicely, and the other week I had a go on tasting. Yummy! 🙂

#4: Reading

Fantasy, biographies, children’s literature and classics are just some of the themes on my bookshelf.

A few of my long time favourites are:

“Anne of Green Gables” by Lucy Maud Montgomery

The Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling

“The Outsider” by Susan E. Hinton

“The Hobbit” by J. R. R. Tolkin

“A Child Called It” by Dave Pelzer

“The Brothers Lionheart” by Astrid Lindgren

“The Secret Garden” by Frances Hodgson Burnett, and

“One Child” by Torey L. Hayden.

#3: Crafts

Whether it’s knitting, crocheting, card making or simply just making pretty things with my hands, I always love that!

A soon-to-be-finished project of mine is a green and white crocheted blanket for my fiancé’s grandmother. I’m on the very last round, so it should be ready in time for Christmas. 🙂

#2: Cuteness

What is better to cheer you up than fellows like these two cuties?

#1: WoW

I love relaxing after a busy day in front on my computer playing World of Warcraft, and watching videos by this awesome guy:

And of course, I love spending time with my lovely fiancé and my wonderful family 🙂

I wish you will all have a happy day! 🙂
